Basil Make Believe Mayonnaise

I believe in homemade mayo, but I'm also a realist. Few people have enough time to make the real thing these days, so here's a quick substitute with some fresh basil that's great on all your summer treats.......

2 C Mayonnaise (I highly recommend Hellman's as there is no substitute)

1 Tbsp Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning

juice of one lemon

1 bunch of fresh basil (about 10 or so leaves) chopped

Mix the mayo, seasoning and lemon juice and let stand about 5 minutes. Fold in the chopped basil and then chill in the fridge for about an hour to let the flavors mix.

Enjoy on cucumber sandwiches, on sliced heirloom tomatoes or your favorite sandwich.

I have made this recipe before and I must say that the use of lemon improves the taste of this recipe.

I totally agree with you that there are few people in the world who have sufficient time to make real things. I am not a expert cook but I will surely try out my hands on the above recipe.
